"Hormonal changes during pregnancy can result in several changes in the mouth," states an article published in General Dentistry.

Studies show that many pregnant women experience pregnancy gingivitus - when dental plaque builds up on the teeth and irritates the gums.  Symptons include red, inflamed and bleeding gums.
